All of these pieces were made during a six-week intensive slip
casting class. I explored as many techniques as possible while learning the process
itself. I produced the molds for the plates, cups, jugs, and abstract ovular object
pair in the woodshop, with the lathe. On the contrary, I was also interested in
the translation of a single-use materials such as a plastic container and aluminium foil into durable, high quality ceramic
material. I thoroughly enjoyed this process and hope to continue exploring slip
casting and ceramics in future work. Particularly, finding more ways of intersecting
the material with my interests in food and dining.
